Oh! This is in my neighborhood!

But, it looks like a narrow format logging machine better suited for speech use?

So, wildly overpriced, then. :)

But it is indeed almost completely unused. Look at the heads. No wear AT ALL!

I wonder if there's anything that could be done to get it to run at 15?

So long as they let you have it for <$200 that is

But hey, if you are planning to bug and wiretap your neighbor, this machine is JUST what you want!
Actually, all you really need to to that is a good scanner radio!

I have a Realistic one that can pick up cell phones, intercoms, baby room monitors, intercoms and standard cordless telephones no problem!

As well, it can dial into all the police, fire and ambulance, taxis, and hundreds of other radio communication devices.

It does have a tape recorder output jack to feed a reel to reel or cassette deck but, my neighbors are not nearly interesting enough to merit the investment.

I think we can blame Hollywood for lulling us into the visual of every G- Man having a room full of these reel to reels loaded for bear, recording every word that is spoken.

It is this Hollywood usage, I think< that is responsible for the many TASCAM's out there for sale that have the name plates removed from them as some of these may have been used as props in films and if they, (TASCAM) didn't pay for a product placement, like Coke, Pepsi and hundreds of others do, they would take the nameplates off or, black them out so that the name of the product could not be seen in the shot.

How many scenes have we seen where they are using a Sony TV but the infamous Sony name plate is mysteriously blacked out?

Cheers! :)

No, that's the real reel usage. :)

They need to record everything, otherwise they can't use it in court afterwards.
