ProTools and Headphones

quick question:

I got a digidesign 001 couple weeks ago and run a presonus HP4 headphone amp with it. the problem i have is, the artist hears a "delay or echo" in the headphones so it throws off timing with the beat. i've tried running the headphones directly thru the 001 and it improved ever so slightly. is there a setting in maybe PT that can fix this? or has anyone had a similiar problem?. Thanks.

turn off the internal monitoring, at least on the track you are recording, so you only hear the other tracks maybe...what kind of system are you running? the slower the system the greater the latency

P4 2.2 ghz 512mb

the thing is you need to her yourself when you sing etc so turning off the internal monotring or whatever is not a choice.

click the "operations" menu from the top. Then check "low latency monitoring". That should do it.

Other thing you could do is lower your buffer size by clicking "setups" then "hardware" and chose 128 or 256.
