Hi all,

I know Project5 can load samples from outside sources, but I'm a little sketchy on the details. I'm wondering what types of samples it's compatible with, and how easy they are to load. Are some samples easier to load than others?

For example, the existing bass sounds with the DS864 are nice (I was doing some recording with the very nice stand-up bass sound tonight), but if possible, I'd like to have the option of using more than the half dozen or so sampled basses that Project5 ships with.

What are the types of samples out there that Project5 is compatible with, and are some easier to load and work with than others?

Thanks,

Ed

P5 can load only .wav files straight into the groove player, but for real sample libraries you would need more. DS864 can load wav iaf akp krz and sf2 banks. It it fine for those, but I use Livesynth Pro for soundfont (sf2) banks from inside P5. Depends on what format you have your samples in. If you are looking for samples (bass you say) there are good ones for free in sf2 format that you can load into DS864. Most other formats are commercial and expensive. P5 can load any VST instrument and DXi instrument. For synth bass I can recommend either PSYN or Triangle, but there are many other synthesized bases out there you can use too.
