project5 and hs2004,ping noise in use

HI...real new to cakewalk and having a problem, figures ,huh.....I am inserting a rewire device"project5"which is a trail program I am using that came in the setup, in my home studio project....I have selected a synth and am all set installing it, but I getting a "ping" type noise as if a metronome is on. what is it? how can I eliminate it? if I use the project5 on it's own it's fine, but once inserted it makes that noise once every 6 seconds (+-) and does not matter if I arm/record or not..it even comes in when I record a passage....any thoughts out there?

Make sure the metronome button is de-selected in Project5's top control bar. It is a small button near the metronome volume knob.

thanks for the answer, I'll give that a try...I think I'll enjoy this site, if all are as helpful!...maybe some day I can help, but don't count on it too soon...hahaha
