HI!
I'm new.
Looking to mount up a couple of 30+ yr old Studio master channel strips that I've up-dated a bit. I just like em. I've tried the usual suspects: MCM PartsExpress, Jameco, MPJA, etc. Been looking at boxes for external hard drive mounting. They're CHEEP! (10-15) and aluminum and often cool looking. And almost the right size. A bit small.
They (the channel stips) seem quiet enough without a full enclosure, but my "mods" left a bunch of wires hanging around, so I need them protected. Maybe it doesn't have to be metal all around.

Alright, I'll answer my own question. I sniffed around Ebay some and found some dealers selling rectangular aluminum tubing. Big, like 2x2,2x3, 2x4, 3x3, and I think I even saw 4x4. Haven't seen any 3x4, which would be really nice for a pair of channel strips.
Basically, if you have access to a carbide bladed table saw, aluminum is almost as easy to work with as wood.
