I have just recently purchaced an M-audio profire 2626. The box says that the minimum requirements are 1gig of RAM and Macintosh G4. Will hooking this device up to my macbook with 3 gigs of RAM hurt my computer/not work? Is this device compatible with a standard macbook?

you should be fine if you are in leopard and not snow leopard. i just bought a 2626 myself, and it was working within about 10 minutes with my macbook pro (with 2 gigs of ram, i think). what made you think it wouldn't work? or hurt your computer for that matter?
