The other day (thursday) I officially broke my imaginary beat slump with this dope track. Synths going nuts and just raw head knod factor.... Kicks shaking the walls and all...I decided I was done with it so I was gonna save it. Go into the disk management screen cuz I wanted to try and clear up some crap on the disk before I saved. If you know know the ASR-X pro then you know the buttons can be kinda sluggish and unresponsive so thinking I hit it kinda soft I tapped it twice. Look on the scence and it reads FORMAT 0.2%.... I liked to lost my damn mind... You seen that MELLOW YELLOW/ HULK commercial.... Dude spilled that drink... No doubt that's what I was on... I turn off the ASR ASAP... Jumped up... TOO LATE!!!! I even tried loading it up in the ol puter... NADA... Now I got a fresh hot corrupted 250MB zip disk..... It had 30 something tracks on it..... All shot to shit... Plus the new track never got saved....

MPC tracks and MPC/ASR-X combos.... A bunch of shit that got my year started off kinda tuff... Even that ONLY SUN track... I got lucky and still had about half the stuff on my hard drive from when I did some disk swapping about 3 months ago. Damn... Hot new tracks down the drain... Not even a wave file or cd to remember them by...

So I got me a six pack and started dropping some new shit... That's where I'll be all this week... In the lab knocking off about 2 a day just becuase.

Anyway... Here's a beat I did for the beat match over at THE WOMB....

THIS DIRTY GAME

Yo Lazi, I feel your pain homie... I was working in the studio one day, after a LONG session with a local group. They dropped like 3 tracks... I'd been mixing all day long... I hit save on the Hard disk recorder... to save the last song and BOOM! I hear this loud crash right... then all the power shuts off. Pitch black... I walk outside, and I see some idiot crashed into a Breaker box on the sidewalk down the street. Threw the breaker for the entire grid...

When they got the power back on the next day, I powered up the Hard disk, and the entire Zip was corrupted yo... 125mb of files, just gone...:(

Ayo... that beat is nice homie. Gotta real nice kick and I'm feeling them strings. Hott track no doubt. Keep bangin.

Damn, and to kick you once more in the teeth i bet it was one of those really hot beats that you'll never be able to recreate. :(

U know i love the track, btw - i already voted 4 u at the womb :)

^Preciate ya...

It's crazy but I have never tried to recreate a single track in my whole time dropping.

As far as that one beat... All I know is I was feeling it... Might have been pure garbage though (is now)...

Last year sometime I lost 15 beat off a MPC zip that I had even wrote some songs to. The worst part is I wrote this one complete song with little performance notes and all. The shit was a str8 heart and dome piece that I spilt out in record time for me. A whole song that I had almost in my head off top. Crazy how it came to me.... I still got the beats I did before it and the ones after it as wave files but I just got so done in by that one track I never found the time to dump it. Tha'st just sick fate... I never even looked at those verses again. :(

Nothing like loosing an entire completly mixed down project though... Ohh man... It's just not enough physical damage you can do. Be sure to leave the lab though....
