I just got into multitrack recording as a producer. I have a motif 6 and a tascam 2488, how do I connect the two, and how do I get my beats from my keyboard on my multitrack recorder?

Your Motif has at least 2 outputs on the back. Should be at least a right and left output.

Plug those into 2 inputs on your 2488 then pan those 2 tracks all the way right and left.

Should do the trick.

Well if you are having trouble with that I would suggest reading the manuals and calling yourself a beatmaker not a producer.

Quit confusing making beats with being a "producer."
That's the quickest way to NOT be taken seriously.

a producer usually does more than create "beats" in rap or tells a rock band how to set their amplifiers... a producer guides a group through the process of making an album... getting all the people set up in the right place, from the record label, to the engineers, to the studio, to everything... I kind of doubt any of you are producers

Well guys, maybe Brynn does know what a producer does in the recording world and was just pointing out that, that is what he intends to be, and on top of that he was just asking a question regarding to getting some beats into his recorder. Cause even though a producer does walk the band through the sessions and make suggestions to the mix, i think that getting beats into a recorder could fall under the job of the Producer sometimes lol. Anyways brynn I would just suggest that you just do what Chris told you to do, the panning and stereo idea.
