HI

Something I've noticed on Reaper is that if I import an mp3 or a wav of a "studio production" into Reaper, it throws to red and shows up to +3db in volume, when Reapers faders are at starting position. (+-0) this also happens on tracks of my friend using Sonar..

Is it my PC, Reaper, or are everyone else clipping??

I've imported some professional stuff, older stuff from like the 70's usually doesn't get close to clipping. A lot of modern music stays right up at 0db and occasionally clips but I've never seen go to +3db.

If all meters on Reaper are at unity (+0) and it's clipping, then yeah, they were just produced that way.

I've heard of some people experiencing volume changes when converting to MP3, but I personally haven't had that problem.

Ok...

I installed bitter, and started an audioclip, by some local studio, turned into an mp3-file, in Reaper.

"sample clip" and "intersample clip" turned red and started running like.. 200 on both accounts within the first two minutes...

It doesn't sound bad, just loud, something weird in the mp3-conversion?

Why are you converting the raw tracks to MP3? Just use the .wav files.
