Problems with Vocal Recording

I'm new to the recording process, and maybe I'm just being a noob but, when i record, if have a guitar track playing through my headphones, and obviously, I then sing to it. When I play it back, the vocals playback faster than the guitar track. Can you help me? :D


Also, when I'm recording vocals, along with the guitar track (meaning theres only 2 tracks), even before the intro is over, my computer freezes up causing me to restart it again.

Its 100% your computer's fault. What kind do you have? How are you pluggin into it?
 
Not familiar with that presonus interface, but I assume it came with some software to interface with it. If there is a master clock, make sure it is set to Internal. Also, check your Codec sample rates and make sure they match between what audition is trying to do and the interface. I'm just stabbing in the dark here because again, not extremely familiar with the hardware you are using. If the hardware couldn't keep up, Audition would complain. I wouldn't expect it to record faster. The whole crashing thing though... not sure what to tell you on that, update drivers and all that jazz.
