Problems with stereo on an sblive

i have an sblive800 sound card that i use to mix music from my fourtrack into, i have regular audio cables coming out of the four track going into an adapter that switches the two cables into an 1/8 inch stereo plug. However when i record on my computer i only get the right side....... when i move the jack around i can get both channel's but when i get both channel's i get a really loud buzz in the background....... i was wondering if anyone has had this problem, or if anyone know how to solve it!

uhh..

that sounds like the line in is lose, i thik that might be a permanent problem.
