Problems w/ GM Drums in Sonar

Whenever I use GM/GS/XG drums in a drum map in Sonar, they don't respond to volume or pan changes. Well actually they kind of do, but only for a moment. Let me explain my current situation.

I loaded a drum map into a MIDI track and created a cymbal pattern. The thing is the cymbal is defaulted to be panned hard right. Well I don't want it panned hard right. So I go to my arrange page and on the MIDI track with the drum map where the pan states C for center. I move it to the left some and hit play and everything sounds good, the cymbal is now panned how I want it.

The problem is, the second I stop playback, then hit play again the cymbal is now panned hard right again, even though the pan control stays at the same setting. Even if I set it to be panned hard left, once I stop and restart playback it only plays in my right speaker, with the setting still saying it's 100% left.

This has happened to me in the past when I have tried to change the volume of a MIDI track with a drum map. The volume will initially change, but after stopping and restarting playback, the volume goes back to where it was. But if I go to the piano roll and adjust the velocity of each note, then I don't have that problem, but that's a pain in the ass.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Open the event list and see if there are any control change events for pan/volume in the midi sequence. Likewise, make sure no sysex messages are loaded that may cause this behavior.

Whoah, I hadn't thought about that (still a little new to the MIDI game). I know on at least some occasions it has occured when I've played around with the pattern brush, so that would make sense about the CC's.

Thanks for the input, I'll play around tonight and see if I can get it fixed.
