My first time burning a music CD...did whole thing, got only the first 6 sec. of each track. Using HP CD Creator. Have someone waiting for me to finish! Any suggestions? I used an RW CD.

well if you going to play the cd in a car or other cd players, you can't use a cd-rw. (unless you have a stereo that can play cd-rw"s) please give me more info on your prom.

Using RW for music

Zeke, thanks for the reply. Yeah, the problem probably is that I'm using RW. Am about to retry using the one CD-R that I found. Got it to play, somewhat, in our CD player but it's full of skips and repeats.

But the RW--I can't play it on the computer, either. But just discovered can't play the original--it too cuts out after 6 seconds or so.

the skping and stuff that you are hearing may be that the disk is scarched up.

If your burning from a CD to CD, don't.

Make an 'image' of the CD to your hard drive, and then burn from the hard drive to the CD-RW. And, use only CD-R media, not rewritables. Sometimes certain brand names of media won't agree with your burner. It may take some expermenting with different brands till you find one that cooperates.

CD-CD vs to Hard Drive

Ok thanks, will try that. Got the CD-R thing straightened out (had run out of them which is why I was using the RW--dumb) but now getting hissing between cuts when recording from a track on one CD then doing the next one from a different CD. Maybe doing it to hard drive first will cure that too?
