Hi there, sorry if I appear thick.. just learning about MIDI!! I have a delta 1010LT sound card which is great. Just starting recording bass, guitar etc. The drummer has got an electronic drum kit which we were advised to record in midi then convert each track etc. When I plug the midi cables in and audio I hear it and it is creating notes on the screen to say it is recording a pad (snare) I have set the driver to delta card but no play back at all. It's all there except sound.

I run it on MAGIX Deluxe 2005 software.

Helpppp!!

This sounds like a software issue.

What internal device do you have playing MIDI?
If none (Since I don't have and no nothing about the 1010 or the software you're using) you may have to, and probably should, MIDI out of the PC back into the drummer's sound module. That way, the computer will be driving the external sound source.

Hi tim,

I have already midi input back into the brain. The internal device is the delta card 1010LT

Your best bet is to probvably ask in one of the keyboard or computer recording forums, because I'm sure key players who use external synth units have faced this exact problem.

Did you set the software up so that the Midi mapper/device driver is playing the external unit? That's the only other thing that I can think of.
