Hi there everyone!

I'm having trouble connecting my Behringer Xenyx 1202 mixer to Pro Tools. I just don't seem to be getting any levels from it whatsoever. Being a novice ive only ever recorded straight through my Mbox 2 directly into Pro Tools from either the DI or one of the mic inputs. I bought this mixer because i wanted to use multiple mics for tracks as well as using the physical EQs. i currently have the mixer connected to main out left going into the Mbox's Line (TRS) because this is how Ive seen it done on Youtube. The Mbox is then connected to the laptop by USB. I don't know if the problem is the way I have set up the mixer to the Mbox or if it is to do with the outputs and settings on the track within Pro Tools or both!.

I am eager to get the mixer up and running and would appreciate any help.

Hi there.

It sounds like you have it set up correctly.
Mixer main outputs l+r would be connected to the mbox line inputs 1+2.

The problem with this setup (if you see it that way) is that no matter how many things you plug into the mixer, they're always going to be summed to stereo.

Anyway, to troubleshoot, open Protools and set up a new stereo audio track with the inputs set to 1+2.
Plug a guitar/synth/keyboard into the mbox line in jack and play : You should see a signal.

If you don't then the problem is on the software side.

If you do see a signal, then perhaps some settings on your mixer aren't correct.
Make sure that the channels levels, channel trims, and main mix fader are up.
You should see the meters on the mixer light up when you plug in a mic and talk into it.

Got it working! Huzzah. Thank you so much for the help, im very grateful.
