please guide me here....what i can do to improve .......

how can my track sound like these tracks
CHANDIGARH DIYAN KUDIYAN - Ammy Virk - Full Video HD - YouTube

or see the beat in starting here--

DEBI MAKHSOOSPURI, PRINCE GHUMAN LATEST SONG

am i using wrong kicks?even the rest of track...sound quality is poor.

I think you have your terms mixed up.

There is no difference in "sound quality." In terms of quality, yours are on par with his.

You DO have a different sound all together, and honestly, it's not much worse. I actually like your song track much better than the one you strive to be.

For sure, the tracks on the link you showed are more compressed than yours. They are probably EQ'd as well. Look up what those terms mean. You need to do your research on them and others as well because there is no short answer on making your tracks sound like the ones in your video.

Hey thanxs bro...u appreciate my track!!!!

So few question for u
1.why volume of my track is so low compared to any song, even the links above .........
2.with ur suggestion i was reading about compression.....and they say " net effect of compression is to reduce the overall volume ", so with compressor ....can i make my songs sound like mainstream and punchy .......

3.if i make new track and want it to sound like one in the link......i need similar kicks? any name for these kicks?

pro tracks sound so good to ears.....but mine not.......so compressor and eq is the answer?

Thanks.

There is too much information for me to give you that I just can't answer it all in one response or even many.

But to answer your questions fairly tersely compared to the best answer:

1 - The pro tracks are "mastered." Look in the mastering forum in this site to learn a little bit about mastering. Mastering is a completely different stage from mixing. I would advise you not to do mastering yourself if you plan on releasing your music for public listening.

2 - Hmm.... I wouldn't really say compression is to reduce overall volume, though I suppose it does reduce peaks. Essentially, compression makes loud sounds quieter and quiet sounds louder. But it's MUCH more complicated than that. You really need to read much more into compression and EQ and know what the controls do so you can use the effects yourself.

3 - Why do you want it to sound EXACTLY like the one in your link? There are probably free samples online that you can download.

First off, it's not crap. As Crow said, this is better than the two songs you posted that you aspire so greatly a sound akin to achieve. You get your sounds by processing what you have already. A flat kick can be made to sound punchy and boomy with effects and eq.

It's all a learning curve, play around and try new things, there is no law. No magic button, no magic sample. You have to use your ears and the tools you have at hand and you can achieve things beyond your initial ideas. Innovation is the word. Make it up.

Louder doesn't = better. Forget volume. Mastering a track gives it other dynamics. Glues it all together. I will take years to learn if you ever decide to learn and even then you'll probably never master it. Mastering Engineers are a different breed to artists. I'm no Masterer but I know how to make a song sound better, louder, and glue it together to a standard that pleases me. An example.....

Your Track

My 2 Minute Master

I'm not saying this is Mastered, I'm just showing an example of what can be achieved with just a little more attention to a finished mix. You can see the difference in the wave forms. All I did was put a touch of compression, eq and a vintage warmer on it. 2 minutes. Now imagine someone who really knows what they are doing spending 30 minutes or an hour on it. It would sound mint!

My advice is keep doing what you're are doing because the music is good, not crap! (as you say) You just need to learn a bit about mastering or get someone else to master your tracks for you. The second option will always be the best because you'll get a new pair of unbiased ears listening and making judgements on what the track needs .

Hope that helps.

Peace

Man what did you do with this track.....i mean u did magic on track itself....what if u got the real fl file......OMG( wish i could have seen u doing it)

Volume was so up and all the sound were like... hitting .....n could be heard... n mine is like every sound killing every other sound....

so the key is with compressor and eq......hmmm

I KNOW its all practice....even i'm in no hurry........ but i was playing with compressor and eq ....n every time i messed it.So are there any videos or articles for these things......or if u have seen any useful tutorials......

and Crow....i got ur point on what compressor do....thats why we gain bit of volume afterwords........

so its not just making beats.....the main thing is how to tune them.......ufff...i wana learn this stuff

.......ufff...i wana learn this stuff

and you will, young grasshoppa, you will. ;)

Just keep pluggin away. Reading about the basics of comp and EQ is all good, and ya should...but where I got most of it was just playin with the buttons and knobs.
Crank em up, back em off, tweak em on different instruments, max em out then turn em off... After awhile, you'll get a feel for what ya need and you end up guessing less and knowing more.

Plug away Grasshoppa.
:drunk:

You just need to play/program a bass synth for the part. What DAW software are you using? You don't necessarily need a keyboard to create a bass line.

hey bro .. i'm using FL10....... i dont have much knowledge aboot all dese stuff......

I don't know much about FL10, but my son does. I keep throwing money at his software tho. Keeps me up at night listening to his beats....:)

You don't need a keyboard to make a bassline like that, you can draw in notes and automate everything in your DAW software. What prog. are you using ??
I would also suggest striving to create your own sound, not reproducing someone else's. This will make you better in the end ;)

so how can i draw notes ...any basics or rules? and what u mean by automate everything in DAW........

A MIDI keyboard controller will make things much easier. If you are serious about writing and arranging music, then you just need to get one. Pimp out your dog or something. lol! :)

any help with bassline

Ok, is this some software or something? We were talking in general, regarding creation of a bass line. You should maybe be more clear.

I cant even effectively Google 'bassline' as it is so vague.

It's a bass line man. You just gotta write one for your tune. I'm not sure what your question is.
