problem with mixing electric violin...

I have lately problem with mixing electric violin in a kinda trip hop song. I did quite a lot eq and reverb but violin still sound muted and not very well.
When I was recording acoustic violin everything was fine but electric...

Can anybody help me,please?

Hey Jacob, welcome to the BBS. You probably have an impedance mismatch. Have you tried a D/I box?

No,I haven't tried. Electric violin should be connected through di box? I am connecting it to presonus firebox now...

If that doesn't solve it, then run it through an acoustic amp and mic it...
