Ok i record on a crappy mic so I know thats problem A. but myquestion is what are some techniques or ways I can get my vocals to sound more blended in and not make em sound so I guess just plain....I add some effects and I can get it to sound ok sometimes but it still just doesnt SIT in the mix good.........in the past I ve had problems with the vocals bein too thin or if not thin just not loud enough to be heard on anything but a computer........any ideas would help........

ps I read somewhere someone said that when mixing you should set the vocals around the same volume as the snare cuz they are both out front of the mix....I dunno if this is true though.........thanks

maybe an mp3 wouldn't be a bad idea. Some other info maybe? Do you compress your vocals? Subtile compression on vocals is an art with often can lift up muddy vocals.

do the lyrics fit the mood of the music? is the sound of you rap/voice fitting with the music? or is it just volume levels? i would suggest a compressor if your vocals are too dynamic, but really, if too much dynamics is the problem, i would only suggest a compressor after you've tracked the clean vocals as perfect as possible..by this i mean, getting the perfect mic placement and vocalizing the proper way. if none of these things are the problem, i would be the 3rd person to recommend you post an mp3 for us to listen to. we can talk it to death, but if we can hear it, it'll save a lot of time...
