ok so heres my problem,
i've recorded a song as a 24 track audio recording which was one of the options given to me when i initially opened the project, after recording all the tracks i needed, approximately 10 in total i went to the audio mix down option clicked on the options i wanted which were
48,000 sample rate
16 bit resolution and tried to save it upon clicking on the option a message sayin
"an error occured during the export!"
i have tried a few things to see if i could get it to work and my friends have suggested some things aswell none of which have worked, is my problem that i should have recorded the song as a 16 track surround mix? and if so is there anyway i can fix it without re-recording? or is it something entirely different? my computer is almost brand new with 512 mb of RAM and a 3GhZ processor so it should be able to match the demands that cubase places on it. please if anyone has any suggestions i would be very very grateful as i am getting desperate, thank you

Could also be a bad plug-in....... or, if you're not using a legal version, that would also be the cause of strange program behavior.....

It doesn't matter which of the preset formats you chose. It's not a L&R locator issue. The error message and the mention of 48k sampling rings an alarm bell, about sound card compatibility, but can you first confirm you're using a fully legitimate version?

yea the thought of sound card compatibility also crossed my mind, the version i am currently using is not fully legit' i must admit however i know of a few people using the same version i have and have had no similar problems. shame on me for using cracked software i suppose but is there anything i can do to get round this problem? would saving the whole cubase problem onto a disk and getting someone with a legitimate version to finish it off work? or am i destined for failure??

Yes there is... buy a LEGAL copy of the s/w.....

Probably not, if the project is corrupt, then it won't be readable...

Failure, not sure - but you certainly won't get a lot of support here until you buy the s/w legally. At the very least it's a good lesson in why you shouldn't use cracks........

very true, well looks like i better get saving, thanks for offering advice anyways

as far as i know, cubasis can be picked up for not a whole lot of money, somewhwere in the region of 40-50 pounds and it does all the basic functions of cubase.

Cubase SE is not very expensive, and if you decide to upgrade you get your money back. Cubasis was good value but it's kind of history now, the small extra cost of SE is much better value.
