Hi,

This is the equipment list that is involved:
Native Instruments Absynth 3.0
M-Audio Keystation 88 pro USB midi board
Cubase SX 2.1
M-Audio FireWire 410

First off,
Absynth 3.0 works perfect with the Keystation while Absynth is running as a normal program, and I can successfully use Absynth as a plug in in Cubase Sx. The problem is that Absynth cannot be configured (far as I know) from within Cubase to recognize the Keystation (I can configure it as a normal program successfully). The keystation is not plugged into the FireWire interface. Does anyone know how I can configure Absynth (while a VST/plugin) to recognize the keystrokes of the Keystation?
If more information is needed, I'll gladly try and be more specific.

thanks,
Santorini

If your controller works with Cubase it will work with all VST's and VSTi's running within Cubase. It seems to me as if you are assuming that you have a bigger problem than you do --- it must be some small thing that's preventing Absynth from 'recognizing the keystrokes'.

If you are able to get midi data into Cubase it should just work when you 'instantiate' an instance of Absynth.

('Instantiate', in this context, means 'turn on'. I learned the word from the People Magazine of recording mags, EQ.)

thanks

I appreciate your input, i'll try to figure it out
