hi all, heres the prob. well i have a p4 2.4gig,512 ram, audigy2 pc(among other components that are irelivent i think). any time i plug into my line in port on the sound card, wether im just listening to the sound or recording it, it only comes out of the left side. when i go to the mixer window and move the paning slider for the line in on either record or playback, the sound fades to nothing while panning right. now the cords and adapters that i have, im pretty sure are not incorrect cause i have used many different istrument and speaker cables with a few different1\4"-to-1\8" adapters. has anyone else had this problem or heard of someone who has or know how to fix it. your help is greatly appreciated. if you need to know more details please ask.

try this

make sure the track in your software is set to MONO not
stereo. then on playback you will be able to pan the track anywhere you wish.

dont quite understand

hey thanks for the reply. but i dont quite get your meaning(when you said set the track in my software to mono). what software were you thinking of. cause if you mean the windows volume control panel there is no option to change from stereo to mono. only a box for digital input only(wich while checked, alows no instument that i currenty have to have sound) and the bass and treble sliders. hmm maybe more details would help here. when i need to record i have to make sure that the analog mix slider is checked(this seems to be associated with CD,AUX,LINE,and PC)
i think the only way i can so mono as i see it,-fisrt of all ive been useing cool edit pro 2.0 lately- is record the track(any track) in mono. but it still is heard while recording or just monitoring getting ready to record on the left side. I guess the biggest problem is the fact that when i record drums i cant get an accurate stereo image (cause i can only monitor through one side) any more suggestions? Thanks in advance
