Hi all,

Recently I got an ada8000 to get an extra 8 inputs going into my emu1616m viat adat.

My problem is that <i cant seem to sync them properly. Whenever i try recording with both the adat ins and the 1616m preamps at the same time i get horrible clicking and popping, even without any sound into the mics. WHenever <i try only the inputs on the behringer or only the inputs on the 1616m, clicking is gone. I assume therefore that its a syncing problem (I could be wrong). Ive tried the both as master and slave, at 44.1 and 48, but nothing seems to work. I also made sure that cubase was running at the same sample rate through all this.

Anybody know what this could be? any help would be much appreciated.

<if you need any more info, let me know.

<thanks

Don't have either of these but found this line on an ADA8000 search;
"External sample rate synchronization via word clock or ADAT input"

The rule always with digi' is one device must be clock master, all others have to be 'slave off the master. In this case it looks like the ADA may be set to slave from 'external adat (whatever they may call it) with the Emu as internal/master.
There may be the option to make the ADA master, Emu slave, (don't know).
Typically you try to make which ever is the better converter/clock be the master for possibly slightly better (tighter) clock and sound- but it may not be an issue.
