I bought cubase a few days ago andread the manuals, but I'm having trouble recording tracks then putting them together to make a final product. How do you record parts of a song seperately then put them together so that they flow smoothly?

Also I try to harmonize 2 tracks but they never come out synchronized. How do I make sure that the 2 parts line up properly?

Thanks to anyone who helps.

What version of Cubase are you using? It is pretty easy, if you can keep all the tracks tight, and in sync. All you have to do is an audio export, which essentially just mixes everything down to a stereo track. Go up under File -> Export -> Audio Mixdown, and that will bring you to a menu where you can save it how you want, add it back into your audio pool, etc...

How are you trying to harmonize? Vocals? Instruments? Are you trying to use the pitch shifter?

Thanks, I'm using cubase Le

What is the mixdown? what does it do?

I'm basically trying to harmonize 2 instruments and they don't fit together tightly, there's always one that goes off.

Yeah I agree. Read the manual again. Those are pretty basic terms/functions of Cubase.

the only reason the tracks aren't lining up is that when you're laying them down to begin with, they're off. mixdown takes all of your tracks that you have recorded for a particular song, and combines them into a stereo track...

Alright, , I guess my problem is I don't understand the terms. I'm more visual and I learn better when things are shown to me rather than read things I don't understand. Thanks for the help.
