I have a Neumann TLM 102 condenser mic that is only recording static. It is recording nothing going into the mic. I've tried it with two different interfaces with 48V phantom power and two different XLR-TRS cables with the same result. Am I missing something? Help would be appreciated.

I hate to be Captain Obvious Hunter, but do you know it actually works at all? Have any friends with other gear you can try?

Do you have any other microphones and cables that you can check to make sure all the other parts of the chain are working?

XLR-TRS cables? Are you patching on the preamp side trough a 1/4" TRS? If so, that's the problem. Phantom power is only available on an XLR.

Thank you Track Rat. I hope that's it. Looks like the newbie channel was the right place for this.

Why would you use a XLR to TRS ? No XLR inputs? Track Rat is 100% correct.....
