I am getting my Mac very soon am trying to decide if I should wait longer to get a power book or get a Ibook...........
I know at PB would be better in the end cause of its power, but I'm on a budget.....
So If I was to get a Ibook 800MHZ with the ram maxed (640mb) would this be suitable for audio recording with an M-Box? 16-24 tracks?
I will also be getting a Firewire Harddrive with it as well.......

Also I have a Radium 49key controller that I wish to use with the Ibook and PT, Is ProTools good for doing electronic music? I know it comes with Lite versions of Ableton Live, Reason, Sampletank etc. are they good for such music? I may actualy get a Korg MicroKontroll for a travel controller as well.........

What do YOU think?
Is this a decent setup for mobile audio and electronic stuff?

Thanks very far in advance!

The 800Mhz iBook is fine for audio, it's a nice little book. PTLE isn't the strongest for electronic music, but if you use Reason in conjunction with it, it's really powerful.

I really like the new G4 iBooks, they're a great deal.

Please bear in mind though that there are PC books that will waste it speed-wise, for the same money.

Hmmm re-thinking....

I am considering the 800mhz Ibook 640mb or ram and a Firewire 410 and using Abelton Live and Reason and my Radium..........
I think this will be a sweet setup for electronics.....

I watched a CLip of "The Crystal method" from M-audios site....
I am even more impressed with "Crytal Method" and Reason.
They were using a 500mhz G4 Power book and Reason and a Firewire 410.........
Nice realy nice.....

Any thoughts on the new Idea for my setup?

Thanks as usual.
