We are trying to incorporate Battery as a drum module for
Pro Tools LE, and are successful. However, Neither MIDI
or Audio setup are feasible for actual recording. The only
way we could get MIDI to transfer from PT to battery was
to install an Edirol MIDI interface, have PT xmit through
the DIGI001 MIDI out, into the UM-1 MIDI in, assigned as
input to Battery. There usually is a direct interface in
Windows for this. We shouldn't have to go out externally,
then come back in. However, Battery is not an available
MIDI output option anywhere in PT, or Windows for that
matter (doesn't show up in control panel either)
Secondly, Audio. If we select to monitor Battery through
the DIGI001 interface, Pro Tools doesn't like it and shuts
down. If we assign It to Pro Tools, Battery won't even
start up. It appears they can't both use the DIGI001 at
the same time. Yes, "Active in Background" is unchecked.
This means we would also have to use a different sound
card to monitor Battery, and worse, would have to use
it to record Battery's audio. Kinda kills the quality!
Thanks you in advance for any insight into how to make
more direct connections between these two. We have
heard they CAN work together. I just thought it would
be as easy as, say, Gigasampler is to do this directly.
