whenever i record for example -guitar there is a delay on the recording signal.... so i have to move the track to make it line up to the previous one.... help it out ...........

make sure you have low lantency monitoring selected. or set your buffer to 128.

How you recording? you re amping the single? or what.

Im doing the guitar direct in... where do i find "low lantency " ... thx for helping

Low Latency Monitoring is in the "operations" menu.

See if that helps, but I'm not sure that's the whole issue. Even with gobs of latency while recording the tracks SHOULD be in sync when they are played back.

Take care,
Chris

If you're using 001 the A/D latency should only be 51 samples. I'd argue that the human hear can't hear that unless you're reamping which with bring about phase issues. If you're using M-Box it's a little bit more, but it's still something you probably wouldn't hear. If it's ProTools Free, I hear there's a zillion issues to deal with and I wouldn't know what to say.

I always use low latency monitoring when I record, but that helps with monitoring latency. If you're moving tracks it sounds to me like you're dealing with A/D conversion latency.

How far do you have to slide the tracks to get it synched?
What Pro Tools system are you using?

One more thing. Are you using plug ins on the track you're recording? That will add some A/D latency too.
