"Hi, I'm in Delaware."
So I've been using Pro Tools at school, so I thought I'd get an academic-priced M-powered version (not bad at $150) which suits all my needs, but I noticed that it says Pro Tools requires compatible hardware to function. I hadn't thought about this when I ordered it, but I did order compatible hardware for my desktop, which is at home where I will be doing my recording. But I have my laptop at school, where I am most of the time, so it would be nice to edit my stuff here, but I'm not sure I can do that without buying more hardware. Is that true? And if so, it shouldn't matter how many channels the thing I get for my laptop has vs. how many I have at home, right? Because I'd probably just get the cheapest thing I can on ebay just so I can use it. Kinda like a dongle, only functional... Thanks.

But yes if you aren't recording away from the main tracking place and you just need to do some editiing you should be able to get the cheapest m-powered compatable interface to unlock the software. I think they have something for 99 bucks if I'm not mistaken.

Are you a student at The Conservatory?
If so talk to Jason, Shaun, or Alex. Those guys can answer any pro tools question you have.

When I went there these guys helped me out a ton. and Alex actually came to my house to help me set up my digi 002. Awesome techers!
