Pro Tools 7/Mac 6093 Error/Digi 002

hi, i have an Ibook g4 1.42, 1.5g ram, super drive and all the bells and whistles... i recently got an external harddrive, a western digital extreme 160gig, 7200rpm etc. i was having problems before because i was recording to the only drive, the internal drive. so i heard that an external hd would help with that. i cant tell you if it did though...

first i get a 6085 error, saying that i need to decrease the h/w buffer size or remove firewire devices.

i decreased the h/w buffer size and i get a 6093 error, that says i need to remove firewire devices.

i cant remove the hd, because then i can't run plugins that i need to be using...

i only have one firewire port, which i think is the main problem.

yes, it is set up right, i think, the digi002r into the hd, the hd into the computer.

i wish i could buy a new computer, but i am not allowed. (dont laugh, the woman is serious)

please tell me it can be fixed, and i dont have to buy a new g5, or a new intel mac (if digi ever supports it)

Getting error messages when recording to a supported FireWire drive on a Mac G5 in OS 10.3.1 with a Digi 002 and Pro Tools LE 6.2.2. (-9131 & -6093)

Try plugging the FireWire drive into the FireWire port on the front of the Mac G5. Plug the Digi 002 into a FireWire port on the back of the G5.

This solution has been known to prevent these error messages (-9131 & 6093) for some customers running supported FireWire drives on a Mac G5 with Digi 002 or Digi 002 Racks.

i tried that, i dont have a g5, i dont have any other place to plug them in.
 
Anyway to chain it through your interface? (is your interface firewire?)

Digi doesn't recommend doing this.

did you take a look at all the answers in the Answerbase?
You're creating sessions and audio files on the external drive, correct? And your plugins are located on which drive???
