I am a digi002R user and I am generally satisfied with it and protools. Let me put on my Protools basher hat, since I'm a little pissed at digi today, when they announced that I could now use more than 32 tracks/voices, but that I have to pay $500 for it. Well, the $500 bundle comes with a bunch of free plugs and other stuff too, but I really didn't ask for any of it nor do I want or need it, so from my perspective it's $500 for them to uncripple my software (let's face it, 32 voice limit is a cripple purposely engineered into the software to LIMIT it's functionality). If they threw in automatic delay compensation, I might think about it, but I'm sure they're saving it in their back pocket to gouge their customers outta more money later. The kicker is, only a couple months ago, they rolled out this "great deal" where you could get v7.0 and a choice of two plugs outta five for $100, but guess what? two of the plugs are in this $500 dollar package, and so is v7.1. So I basically threw away my $100 last month and they are asking me for another $500. All pretty much for shit that competing companies are already providing in their initial cost. Anyway, at this moment, if I could start from scratch I definitely would NOT go with Digi. Cubase looks promising.
