I'm thinking about seting up a home studio Using Cubase as my primary software. What I'd like to do is use a digital mixer (like Yamaha 01V) with a 8 IO Lite pipe adapter (like alesis). I'd also like to have a computerbased midi adapter (because I like the versitility of wavetable synthesys). Nobody makes a Pro audio adapter which includes an onboard synth and I really don't want to run two sound adapters (asking for lots of conflict problems as well as using up unnecessary resorces). Does anybody make an internal midi adapter only, which would use the audio functions of a different audio adapter I.E. Alesis type? Otherwise how can I do this? I really don't want to go to the expense of having a lot of seperate midi modules (although I'm sure that over time I'll probably collect some anyway) just to have midi avalable to me. Besides this would mean having to ship analog midi signals into my mix (I'd like to keep my projects as much in the digital domain as possible).
Any Recomendations?????
