I was just wondering which brand of subwoofer is the best for outdoor and indoor use? I am looking for passive 18 inchsubwoofers for the best price. Thanks!

The "best" is very subjective. If you really want to know what subs rate up ther though, prepare to pull your wallet out. The better of the subs on the market run up over $4000 a cab, unpowered. Personally, the EAW Sb1000's are a pretty rocking somewhat affordable sub. The new JBL SRX700 series subs are also pretty slammin. Especially for the price. If you want raw powr though, have a look at Servodrive stuff, but now you are looking at more money. I have a bunch of Turbosound Flashlight subs on their way to me. As a dealer it will cost me more than $2000 per driver to replace drivers in them, more than $600 if I just want a recone kit. After you get your sub though, you will still need a good amp if you really want them to work right (plan on at least $1500 per channel if you are pairing them with good high end subs). You will probably also need a crossover. If you just want a good sub though that performs well and can grow with your systems, look at the EAW and JBL's I mentioned above. Also, I am selling off a pretty large racks'n'stacks system to pay for my Turbosound stuff coming in:) I am looking for about $1000 per cabinet, tops and bottoms, and $3k for the amp rack, and $1750 for the crossover.

Much appreciated!

Thanks for the info xstatic. I knew EAW's were real good. We have too amps. One by Crest and the other is an EV Eliminator. One runs our stage monitors and the other the mains. The Crest CC 2800 should be able to handle the load. I haven't had to deal with subs until now. I guess I'm not totally sure. The other amp is an EV Eliminator I.
