Pro Audio 9 Question

I recorded a tune and it's to long, I'd like to cut a section out of it out, and join the two remaining clips together. I'v tryed the Edit > Select > By Time > Enter Times rought, but I'm stuck right there. I think i may be missing something in the " select the part of the clip you want to delete area " Any way , any help would be appreciated
 
Cakewalk keeps changing the menu structure and command names, but I believe you should be able to get there by following this:

Highlight the area that you want to remove by clicking and dragging your mouse in the Time Ruler. Make sure that ALL the tracks are highlighted afterwards. (If they aren't, try using the Select All command before you do the highlighting in the Time Ruler.)

Then go the Edit > Delete and make sure the Delete Hole checkbox is checked.

That should do it for you.

However, if the start and end points for the piece you are removing aren't in an area that is silent, you are likely to hear a click where the new parts come together. You *may* be able to minimize the click by crossfading the tracks.
 
Thanks, I'll try that. Actually I think I would be able to get the remaining pieces together pretty well, just cause the splits are right at the chorus/verse change. Do you know if there is a way to remove the exact piece, using the time counter. Like " remove section between say...12:03:034 and 15:33:006 for example? I see in the edit/select menu it will let me select a "from" and "to" time , and it highlights that section, but i can't make it go away or slid the two remaining tracks together. Thanks again for the help, I'll get it eventually.

If the highlighted section is highlighting ALL of your tracks at those points, then you should be able to use the Edit > Delete command as described above. The key is to make sure to choose the Delete Hole Option. Otherwise you will just have a big gap of silence at the deleted section.
 
I just tried what you suggested, it worked! I clipped the track and it came out really nice. Thanks for your help Dach.
