G'day Cakewalkers,

I am new to computer recording, including this software. I have a copy of cool edit 2000 which i use to edit my audio. It the tips for the day section it claims to be able to be used from inside of cakewalk.

I only have the trial version of pro audio 9 at the moment and cant seem to find a way to access cool edit from in the program. I know version 8 had a cool edit in the "tools" pull down folder, as does the demo of guitar tracks 2 (i am currently investigating the entire range for the program that best suits my needs and budget)

Does anyone know if this function exists as it would be great to be able to use cooledit from within cakewalk rather than exporting wave files (which, at present, seems to be the only way). I would like to know these details before making any purchases.

thanks

I know the problem billy - my version of 9 doesn't access cool edit either but it does wavelab and soundforge. interesting!!

Hi Billy,

You can add CoolEdit to the Cakewalk Tools menu manually by doing a little editing in your Windows Registry. I have outlined this procedure in one of the back issues of my newsletter:
