im a white kid from the suburbs who thinks he can rap. but i need a mic haha, i was looking at C1 U BEHRINGER and the samson c01u. does anyone think these are good choices or have any other opinions?

Good question to post, lots of people been through the same dilemma and can offer great advice.

I think you will find the general consensus is USB mic's generally suck and for similar money, you are much better off getting a conventional mic (probably condenser type) and an interface with built-in preamp.

Can you tell us more about what you do have and how you are going to use it? (computer, software etc.)

well i used to have a samson c01u sucked but if you really want a usb mic you can look at a snowball i have one i play with someimes there like 99.00 are a mxl 009 i think that on is like 400

USB mics are generally made for podcasting.
The analog>digital converters in them are miinimal and you may have problems with monitoring.

Get a real 24bit asio interface and a standard mic for best results.

youd probly have to get someone elses opinion but you could get something like this maybe? im familiar with the mic and love it, but i just found out these adapters exist which may make for a good usb vocals but as i have no experience, id wait for other peoples opinions, im sure theres an underlaying problem somewhere, always is :laughings:

A good USB mic is like a good Ford Pinto. Just say no. :)
