Presonus mp20?

has anyone used one of these pre's, any opinions on them. I would be using it on acoustic guitar and voice, with a couple of mics, v77, spb1.
 
I've had one for several years. When they first came out they were very respected. However after the 1st couple of years they started to use different parts and the newer units were not as respected.

The original units were, clean, quiet and very transparant. I never tried the newer units, so I don't know how significant a change occurred.

So I guess the answer is - it depends on how old a unit it is!
 
You'd probably get nearly equal performance buying a dmp3 from maudio and saving a few hundred bucks. I just a/b'd some guitars using a dmp3 and presonus eureka and the dmp3 sound much cleaner, and nicer. Kinda disappoints me considering I spent 500 bucks for something that performs as well as a 150 dollar box.
 
comparable to a dmp3, well in that case i probably should just stick to my dmp3 (-: thanks guys.
