Presonus Inspire 1394 with Pro Tools

Hey guys, I searched about this and found nothing :)

I was wondering if the Presonus Inspire 1394 will work with Pro Tools?

I'm not too familiar with Pro Tools so it may seem like a stupid question but I am under the impression that Pro Tools is operated differently than, let's say, Cubase (I don't mean the user interface etc., I mean how the actual program is run).

My reasoning behind this is because when I search (on music123 or something) for Pro Tools, the software is never by itself, it's always bundled with something that looks like it's needed to run it?

The Presonus Inspire will not work with ProTools. There are only a handfull of interfaces that will work with ProTools. I that is the program you want to use then you will have to get an interface designed for it.
Do a search for Digidesign and also M-Audio. They make ProTools interfaces.
 
Lets be a little more specific here.

Digidesign software can only be used with Digidesign hardware. Digidesign (Avid owns them all but lets not split hairs) also owns M-Audio and some of those interfaces can run a special stripped down version of Pro Tools called M-Powered.

There are 3 versions of Pro Tools. M-Powered for certian M-Audio devices, Pro Tools LE for the Digi001/002/003 and m-box series, and Pro Tools TDM/HD/Accel which is the high end real Pro Tools that the big studios use.
