Anybody compare the two? Feature-wise they seem very similar. Same price too.

I'm wanting to buy whichever one has the best sounding preamps and converters. At this price range... do you think they are both very similar?

Ive done testing with them both and think theyre very similar. I'll give the preamp edge to the Firestudio (both are very clean, presonus is a little less sterile), the performance edge to the Saffire, control panel and routing ability to the Firestudio (once you figure it out), conversion sound to the Saffire. The support from Presonus is some of the best in the industry, imo.

For my coin, I'd be getting a MOTU 8Pre. Thats just me.

Thanks for the info, but not for giving me another option :( j/k I'll check it out. Why do you prefer it over the Firestudio and the Saffire?

MOTU is the only company that can rival RME with stability and low latency performance. For me, they fill a middle ground between RME and everything else.
