I'm looking for a digital audio interface and I've narrowed it down to the MOTU 828 and the Presonus Firestation. I've heard good things about the MOTU and I'm really diggin the features of the Firestation, BUT I read a review on a site by a guy who basically wished the Firestation hadn't come into existence. He had massive problems with the driver installation as well as other things. Any advice? Does anyone own this unit???

I am in the same boat you are but I've done some research and I also know someone that owns a motu 828 and I decided test it out. it gives alot of backround noise and effect affiliates before the start of a recording. I havn't tried The presonus yet but i have heard good things. The motu 828 seems like it's a good deal for the money but I would rather spend alil more and get a nice clean recording. hope that helps alil.

dude, if you are interfacing into your computer via firewire go with the firepod, go to presonus.com find the firepod's page and read the reviews that are linked. after reading and doing a little investigations on the firepod, you'll definately stop thinking about motu or the firestation.
