Presonus Firepod as Mixer?

I have a question for anyone who has a Presonus Firepod. I have heard that it works standalone without the computer. In standalone mode, how do the inputs pan in the main control room and cue mix outputs? Are they all panned center, or half of them left and half of them right?

Thanks much for your feedback!

If it works anything like my Motu 828mkII (which makes the same standalone claim), then all of the inputs are panned to center by default, but can be panned whereever you want if you just go through the menus to do it.

Since the Firepod doesn't have any menu system on it, then I would assume the panning would have to be done ahead of time through the software and could not be changed in the field.

If you haven't bought anything yet, and standalone usability in the field is a concern for you, then I would recommend going with the Motu instead. True, you have to get external preamps (while the Firepod has 6 onboard), but the flexibility has been well worth it to me.

I don't have the unit, but just looking at the face of it; there are no pan controls on the individual channel pre's, so my guess is they are all centered.
