Hello! well... i'm not sure what's going on here. i just purchased the PRESONUS Firebox, and got all the software working, blue light stays on on the box, and i get no signal through...nothing. i've tried guitars and mics...different chords, all that stuff, and nothing. through the headphones is silence. if i crank up the phones knob, i get the expected raise in static, but there appears to be nothing coming in.

what am i doing wrong here?!

is it possible my box is defective?

thanks!
Tait

Is it connected to speakers, or are you only monitering through the headphones? If so, make sure in the firebox mixer program you headphones are set to "mix".

have you made the proper adjustments in control panel>sounds and audio devices?.....assuming that you're using a p.c.....what recording software are you using btw?

I don't know what software your are using, but make sure you are using the ASIO drivers that came with the firebox and also make sure that the track you are recording is "record enabled".

My Firepod came with all the input pots turned all the way down. Make sure yours isn't still in that state.

Hey, thanks guys!

Yeah, I've set my AISO devices the way they need to be set from the Firebox manual. I'm also just trying to use the Cubase LE that came with it, so i *think* that should be set right.

I was listening through headphones. I'm not at home right now, but i'll check that the headphones button is set to "mix".

I've turned all the actual knobs on the firebox pretty much all the way up, and still no sound. I'm not even getting the red clipping lights to go on on the box, with them cranked and playing guitar or thwaking a mic, which kind of leads me to believe that nothing is getting in.

I'll play around a bit more when i'm home soon...hopefully i'll figure it out with your suggestions.

thanks!

have you messed around with the software mixer?

ok...things are slighly improving, and i'm sure it's just cuz i'm doing somthing stupid, but now i can seem to record some guitar. i can see the levels moving, but can not hear what is being recorded. when i play it back, i can hear it, but now while i'm playing it. i can overdub, but i can't hear what i'm recording....

now any thoughts?

thanks!

sweet! that did the trick! although i'm still a little confused by the whole mixer program from PreSonus. it doesn't seem to have any effect on my incoming signal. i adjust the volume, pan (any of that stuff) for incoming track and it makes no difference. i'm guessing i still have something set wrong...

thanks guys!
