Presidential and Prime Ministerial Mics

I thought I'd do a little video about how the US and the UK mic up the very important people - the ones always on TV in the good and bad times.

I think it was brought about by the AKG D222 I destroyed recently - which incidentally is now scrap. I was quite pleased with the rebuild, but clearly not just the tube got mangled, but the acoustic tubes and probably the capsules too. I dug out the other D222 and it's fine - but just before I got started spraying the 'repaired' one, I thought to plug it in, and no point making it presentable - it sounds horrible.

That's when I looked at how the US and UK do our heads of state and politicians, and how similar, but different they are.

AKG for is and Shure for the US - been that way for a long time now. I've put the mics next to each other and recorded a bit so you can hear. I note I need to brush up on geography - Vienna is not in Germany - oops!
