Okay... with a recent RNC and SRV-30303 purchase, I think all my hardware/software needs are met.... (for now...)

SO, I know what things I can't live w/o in my studio, (masking tape, tool kit, lava lamp, etc...) but I'd like to know what STUDIO ACCESSORIES you all find to make life more productive in your studios... Beer coolers, miscellaneous foam for dampening, label maker, etc....)

Thanks, this might get interesting!!

I wrote an article on this very subject, called "Tools of the Studio Trade". You can find it here:

A some things I have now that I didn't when I wrote the article:

Auralex MoPads. These sit under your speakers and help isolate them. Really good to have these or *some* way to isolate your speakers.

I also have treated my room a bit with acoustic foam tiles and bass traps. It makes a difference. I've also done some sound isolation on my computer and put it in a closet. The quieter you can get your room the better.

Another nice thing I have are several rack mount power strips with individual switches for each outlet. Not really necessary, but useful for those pieces of gear that don't have their own power switch, or a power switch on the back.

Also, I'd recommend console tape over masking tape. You can get it at Markertek.

Don't have a lava lamp. :-)

Great article Albert, and I agree on all points... especially the flashlight, cable organizers and SPL meter...

I'll have to check on "console tape"... I've been happy w/ just 3M masking....
