Well, I've pretty much got everything that I need, I think!

I've purchased a Rode NT1, and an ART Tube MP to go with my PC, and Lexicon Core soundcard. The only other thing I need is another preamp, or a cheap mixer for my two Shure SM57s, for stereo miking. The ART is mono, so I'm out of luck there. Any ideas/suggestions? Not looking to spend much more than I have already!

Either a Behringer (oh god, I didn't ust say something that will cause many peopel to disagree with me did I?) mixer, or a Blue Tube. I recommend the Behringer.

Of course, this is where I feel obliged to ask you your sonic goals...do u want pro quality, demo quality, decent quality, just anything on tape...?and how much can u spend?

I'm going for as good as I can get, but I've already shelled out quite a bit of dough recently for this stuff (especially for a cheapskate like me!). I'm hoping not to spend more than $200, really.

what about another art preamp?...If I were you I'd rather pay $99 for 1 real nice preamp than $200 for a mixer with 4 trashy preamps...if you wont be recording thru the NT1 and the two sm57's at the same time, youll only need one more....if you will be recording thru all 3 at the same time, maybe look into a stereo preamp other than Art..it sure wouldnt hurt to have two different sounding preamps....

Check out the blue tube, it's *decent* for the money and when you start getting better gear it will still be useful for some instruments.
