I have recently been looking into purchasing a mic preamp in the $400 dollar range. At a large music store in my area, they have both a DBX 586 and a Focusrite Penta. Both of these have been recommended to me by store employees. The Penta is new and the DBX 586 is used. Both of them are marked at $400 dollars in-store. I have found out that the 586 has been discontinued, but I don't have the first idea why. Anyway, if anyone here is familiar with either of these two, could you recommend one of the two to me - or give me pros and cons - or something. Just let me know about what you think about which is better and the entire situation. Thank You.
