Preamp to Mbox HELP!

Hey guys, its only right i post in the "Newbie" Section, because i probably have some stupid questions. lol.

I finally boiled it down to 1 Preamp and 1 interface that i goin to get.

I gunna get the API A2D Preamp, along with the Mbox 3 Pro.

How would i connect them?

Obviously, the mic into the preamp, and then would i do XLR out from API to XLR in MBOX
or S/pdif out from the API, to S/pdif in on the mbox.

or do i do both?!

im sorry if this was a stupid question, Bare with me!
all the help i can get would be gladly appreciated!

Your MBOX Pro has a digital I/O (there's a "World Clock" written on top of the I/O), connect it to the digital out on your mic pre (the Master Out).
So, your pre will be the world clock master, and your Mbox Pro is slave, but remember to set the both of them at same sample rates.
