Hi. I'm trying to find out what I need for guitar recording, DI
straight into my computer, and occasionally DI into a cassette
4-track. So I'm looking for a preamp.
I have pedals which give me all the overdrive/distortion I need and so
all I want a nice, simple, sweetened up, clean sound. Which sort of
preamp would be suitable? It would be better to have one particularly
good sound from the preamp, rather than, for example, many cruddy amp
simulations. But I'm not really sure what I should be looking for.
Perhaps something along the lines of the M-Audio DMP3?
It would be a huge bonus if the preamp has digital outputs (SPDIF, USB
or Firewire) so I can cut down on the amount of gear I need.
Anyone have any suggestions or comments?
