Pre-amp into my apogee duet?

I have an apogee duet interface and the built in pre-amps sound just grand to me, however I am thinking about getting a Robbie pre-amp to kick it up a notch.

would this be a BIG difference?

if I did it would my mic use both pre-amps since I would go from the Robbie to the apogee? If so is that ok?

yes, it's possible to use an external pre with a duet

Yes. Plug the Out of the External Pre in to one of the mic lines In on the Duet. Presto: The Duet's Pre's are automatically bypassed!
