Powered Mixer?

Im not sure if this sould go here but oh well i wasn't sure where to put it

Whats the difference between a normal standard mixer and a powered mixer?

A powered mixer has an amp (mono or stereo) in it, so you just plug unpowered (passive) speakers into it. A non-powered mixer gives line level (and possible other level) signals out to an amp or to powered (active) speakers.
