Powered mixer for studion

HI

I have a Behringer Euro power PMH 5000 800 Watt mixer that I'm thinking of using in my home studio, as it has more inputs than my current mixer. I appreciate that powered mixers are mainly designed for gigging, and do not have as many outputs, so im not sure if I could get away with it. Would it be too powerful for my setup?

I would be using it with Cubase, and an 8 in/out soundcard, and would use plug-ins for effects and EQ

You'll be limited to only 2 outs on the mixer!
 
I'm presuming you're thinking of using it as more of a monitor controller' and the main concern are the amps? I'd think it's a case where you have to use some caution with the levels and know what you're driving. But then that is always the case.

Leading on from my question, i realise that its not really appropriate to use this desk, so its going on eBay, as I don't need it. thanks for the replies and the humor, have to go now as I have a bit of a studion
